A government committee is preparing a contingency plan to attack Iran, should diplomatic efforts to derail Iran's suspected nuclear weapons program fail, the paper reported.
Ephraim Sneh, a Labor party lawmaker, has sent an eight-point document to both U.S. presidential candidates, saying "There is no government in Jerusalem that would ever reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran. When it is clear Iran is on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons, an Israeli military strike to prevent this will be seriously considered."
Sneh suggested the window of opportunity for non-military options to stop Iran from going nuclear is 18 to 24 months.
