Kansas City woman accused of taking out a hit on her husband

McClatchy: "A Kansas City, North woman tried to hire a hit man to kill her ex-husband, Clay County authorities have alleged.

Dorothy M. Cascone, 58, was charged late Monday with one count of first-degree assault in the murder-for-hire scheme. Cascone is being held on $100,000 bond in the Clay County Detention Center, said Prosecutor Daniel L. White.

The plot unraveled on Sunday when the purported triggerman contacted federal investigators and began cooperating with authorities, according to court records."
