Why it's never too late to be a lesbian

The Guardian: "Why it's never too late to be a lesbian"

"More and more women are discovering after years of marriage to men, and having had children, that they are lesbians. Were they always – or is sexuality more fluid?"

I know, I know! Pick me, pick me, PICK ME!!

The idea of heterosexuality being normative is just that; an idea. Human sexuality is much more complex than we realize. It is a lot less set in stone than many would like. I'm sure that our more conservative brethren don't like this notion; but there you are. Life is complex, and the universe really does not care about our moral or intelectual fixations. The universe cares not a whit for our Manichean obsessions. Life is what happens to you when you are making other plans. That women can shift from a heterosexual orientation to a Lesbian one is no surprise. From a Darwinian prospective, the sexuality of a post menopausal woman is of no import. It has zero effect on the survival of the species. No harm, no foul.
