Let us sing the praises of Serendipity. I found this site by taking a wrong turn right before the Golden State Bridge. SF being what it is, the first look was in fog. Not much to see other than an abandoned shore battery. The promised scenic view of the Bay was washed out in fog. The next week, that would be this week, I ventured forth on a bright sunny day. On the Sausalito side of the Golden Gate, is still part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Once a part of the shore defense of the SF Bay, it is now slowly being taken over by nature.
