Republican Senate Candidates Skipping Convention
According to Congress Daily, 9 of 12 targeted Republicans running in the most competitive U.S. Senate races this fall "are either skipping the Republican convention in St. Paul, Minn., or have not decided whether to attend."Among those who will not attend: Ted Stevens of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine and Bob Schaffer of Colorado.
Six others have not yet decided: Roger Wicker of Mississippi, John Sununu of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina, Gordon Smith of Oregon, John Kennedy of Louisiana and Steve Pearce of New Mexico.
