Olympic Deal Sealed: Obama Makes $5 Million Buy

WASHINGTON (AdAge.com) -- It's official. Sen. Barack Obama's campaign will be among the TV sponsors of NBC Universal's Olympics coverage. In the first significant network-TV buy for any presidential candidate in at least 16 years, the Obama campaign has taken a $5 million package of Olympics spots that includes network TV as well as cable ads.

Absolutely Brilliant. Can you say starve the opposition of oxygen? With His world tour still fresh in people's minds BHO will be all over the airwaves in the biggest T.V. event of the summer. McCain will struggle to remain relevant for most of August. Obama has the opportunity to define himself; he will be able to play offense. The Republican attempt to swift boat Obama may hit a minefield of payed advertising. In the long, drawn-out brawl that is the general election Obama seems to be dictating tempo of the fight so far.
